Implications of Arch Warp Altitudes on an Ancient Masonry Bridge under Ground Movements

چکیده
Although only a few of the ancient masonry arch bridges (MABs) are in fairly good condition today, many still use. Over time, declines and safety requirements change. Therefore, it is important to examine these under different influences. The strengthening MABs generally not essential. major cause damage their insufficient width height, thus, but usability that has restricted life-time MABs. this investigation, effect height on static dynamic behavior single-span MAB was investigated. For aim, Ancient Tokatlı Bridge, built Karabük, Türkiye, selected for investigation near-fault (NF) far-fault (FF) ground motions (GMs). To observe altitude warp MAB, first, finite element model (FEM) utilized, using ANSYS SAP 2000. Furthermore, constitute warp’s influence FEM remodeled considering warps between 7.0 9.0 m. Moreover, GMs were applied investigate behavior. Under GMs, stresses strains (compression tensile) observed compared with each other. Consequently, at end investigations, maximum reduced, while one-span increased NF FF also true contrary situations. compression be hazardous point destruction, increased.

Finite Element Modelling Tuned on Experimental Testing for the Structural Health Assessment of an Ancient Masonry Arch Bridge
This paper presents the structural health assessment of a railway ancient masonry arch bridge located in Bologna, Italy. A three-dimensional finite element model of the entire bridge, tuned on in situ experimental tests, has been used for the assessment. In particular, the finite element model has been employed to evaluate the structural health of the bridge both in its actual state and in the ...
متن کاملDeflection Measurement of Masonry Arch Bridges with Tall Piers: Case Study of Shahbazan Bridge
A common practice for detailed assessment of masonry bridges is to use recorded deflection signature of mid-span of such structures due to predefined loading schemes. However, measuring the deflection of bridges with tall piers or those situated over deep valleys introduces certain difficulties, since common deflection-meters require a reference point relative to which the measureme...

متن کاملSensitivity Analysis and Parameter Identification on historical Masonry Arch Bridges
Close to reality computation of the serviceability and load-carrying capacity of old masonry arch bridges for rising live loads is a current problem. In Germany many of such roadand railway bridges exist. Some of the most important features for applicable numerical evaluation of masonry arch bridges are a realistic structural model (very often three dimensional models are necessary), the consid...
